Forest Education Initiative
The FEI Forest Education Initiative (FEI) aims to increase the understanding and appreciation, particularly among young people, of the environmental, social, and economic potential of trees, woodlands and forests and of the link between the tree and everyday wood products.
Their website is a wealth of information on how to go about setting up a forest school including lots of information on how to access training.

Institute for Learning Outside the Classroom – IOL

The Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) encourages outdoor learning by developing quality, safety and opportunity to experience outdoor activity provision and by supporting the good practice of outdoor professionals. The IOL has a special interest group for forest schools which you can join if you are a member of the IOL.

The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom is the national voice for learning outside the classroom. We believe that every young person (0-19yrs) should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development, whatever their age, ability or circumstances.
